Tara was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy in January 2013. By August 2015 Tara's kidney function was at 16 meaning a transplant was imminent. Sarah, Tara's partner decided she quite fancied the idea of never having to buy another Christmas present on account of having given the gift of life and so agreed to donate one of her kidneys to Tara.
